The Fifth International Conference of the Thailand Econometric Society
This conference aims at bringing together researchers in econometrics for an opportunity to present and discuss theoretical and applied research problems as well as to foster research collaborations.
The main theme of this Fifth International Meeting is Financial Econometrics and the conference is open to any topics in economics.
The Fifth Conference will feature two keynote addresses:
(1) Paul Embrechts, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland
(2) Christian Gourieroux, Paris Graduate School of Economics, Statistics and Finance, France and several invited addresses from prominent economists.

While universities have to produce graduates who have skills to operate effectively in a globally competitive environment, it is also widely recognized that its fundamental challenge is to provide an ethical knowledge base responsive to societal needs, and contribute to the common wealth (not just financial or economic wealth) and well-being of its entire people. Indeed the complexities of our unsustainable societies can present new opportunities (as well as challenges) for universities to reclaim their relevance and responsibility to society.

7th International Association for Lichenology Symposium

The local organizing committee of the IAL 7 extends a warm welcome to all lichenologists, biologists and every individual who are interested in lichen to participate IAL 7. The symposium will be convened, for the first time in Asia, in Bangkok during 9-13 January 2012 at the Chao phya Park Hotel.
The local organizing committee and host institutes recognize the importance of lichen in this dynamic changing world. The most up-to dated research findings world wide will be presented and discussed at IAL 7. Future progress in lichen will be built upon the recent findings.
